A Tale of Two Suits
Rick Pitino made an outfit change during Saturday's game. :: John Summers II/Reuters, AP
Forget the primaries and the Pro Bowl, the weekend's biggest TV event was Saturday's Lousiville-Georgetown game and Rick Pitino's pimpin' white suit. Unfortunately, the Cardinals were outscored 31-23 in the first half, so the coach changed to a dark suit at halftime and the Cardinals rolled to a 59-51 victory. Pitino, however, claimed the suit change was due to a Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke spill and had nothing to do with his team's performance.
More on UNC and Toilet Paper
Friday, we told you about UNC women's coach Sylvia Hatchell and her Tar Heels celebrating a victory over Duke on Monday by toilet papering a tree in Chapel Hill, only to be cited by local police. On Thursday, after Hatchell earned her 500th win as Tar Heels coach, a Tar Heel fan brought her a present -- more toilet paper.
We never heard of Notre Dame offensive line recruit Braxton Cave, but we love his candor. When asked by the South Bend Tribune about what he discussed with Urban Meyer's wife, Shelley, when the two were on a boat during his trip to Gainesville, Cave said: "Basically, the weather and how they were on the boat and all this stupid crap."
TCU's stadium renovation didn't quite go as planned. :: Bill Frakes/SI
After an 8-5 season, a victory in the Texas Bowl and a major renovation to Amon G. Carter Stadium, things were looking up for TCU football. That is, until part of the stadium collapsed over the weekend.
Pop Culture Nugget
The Hottie & the Nottie -- starring Paris Hilton -- earned a mere $76 per location on its opening day. Broken down, that means that about 10 people purchased a ticket at each theater that was showing the film.
