School: Conference: Ht., Wt.:

BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter at cornerback awarded All-Conference honors as a return specialist since his sophomore campaign. Senior-year defensive totals included 60/2/9 when he also averaged 23.2 yards on 33 kick returns and 17.4 yards on 25 punt returns with three total return touchdowns. Junior-year defensive totals included 66/1/7 with a 23.5-yard average on kick returns and a 11.2-yard average on punt returns.

POSITIVES: Productive return specialist and defensive back flying up draft boards. Effective in man coverage, possesses good ball skills, and shows better-than-average instincts. Physical, likes to mix it up, and consistently positions himself against opponents to break up the throw. Willing in run defense. Displays vision and elusiveness returning punts and kicks. Works well with safeties and defends the run.

NEGATIVES: Displays only average top-end speed despite his 40 time. Loses out in battles.

ANALYSIS: McKelvin has been a very productive player the past two years and is one of the better cornerbacks in the draft. His draft stock has been moving north after terrific performances at the Senior Bowl and the combine. He possesses the size, skill, and competitive nature to start in a cover two scheme at the next level and should immediately produce on special teams.
